Relief for Upper Back & Neck Pain

Often pain in the upper back, shoulder and neck can be caused by sitting at a desk or computer screen for too long during the working day.

A warm bath, together with some over the counter medications, such as anti-inflammatories can relax the muscles and ensure that you have a good night's sleep.

Prevention is better than cure, taking regular breaks away from your desk as well as a brief walk during your lunch break will help.  Even a few simple exercises will reduce the tension and alleviate the discomfort.  Shrugging your shoulders, moving your head from side to side, rolling your head round to the side and then to the back, all these can help to minimise the tension as it builds up during the day.

Lower Abs - if you've been weight lifting to strengthen this muscle group and are experiencing low back or hip pain, give yourself a break for a while and check with a medical professional.

If you're also suffering with low level headaches, you may need to consult a doctor as there may be other underlying causes.  You may also wish to check with your Health & Safety representative at work that your screen is set at the right distance for your workstation.
