Could My Lower Left Back Pain Be a Kidney Problem?

Many people with a general understanding of the body will know that the kidney is situated in the lower left quadrant of the back.

The kidneys are on either side of the back of the lower abdomen, in front of the spine.

Is it muscle strain or kidney pain? 

Typically kidney pain can have a rapid onset and is related to a kidney infection or the presence of kidney stones. 

As the pain can spread out from the the lower left side, it can feel very similar to a low back injury or strain.
